Christian Unity Is Needed to Confront Persecution

christian unity

Christian unity can bring positive change; let’s join hands against the adversary.

Persecution of Christians is on the horizon. It was reported this week on Persecution.org that a pastor and his family were killed in Nigeria because he preached to his congregation to vote according to their conscience.

Christians worldwide must stay encouraged and not allow persecution to discourage them.

Christian Community Must Withstand the Oppositions

Believers in Christ should find motivation in our Lord, who suffered all things to achieve his goal. Opposition rose against Jesus; the Pharisees and the Romans colluded to persecute Jesus, but the Son of God remained unmoved. He focused on finishing his commission.

The Enemy with A Goal

Satan does not come after the Christians for something minor; he comes to scare believers and steal their faith! So, no one should be carried away by the manipulation (called persecution).

The Bible warns that Satan prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour and does not discriminate. He targets the young and the old, the strong and the weak, and the affluent and the poor. Therefore, believers need to stay alert and watchful, putting on the armor of God so that they can withstand the devil’s schemes.

The armor of God comprises the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the belt of truth, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. When armed with this armor, Christians can stand firm against the devil’s attacks and defeat him with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Christians should also seek the fellowship of other believers, as the Bible instructs that we are not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. The company of believers provides strength, encouragement, and accountability, making it easier to resist the devil and all his temptations.

Satan, the persecutor of the brethren, is an enemy of God and Christians and would do anything to harm believers. However, believers need not fear him, for the Bible assures us that greater is He in us than in the world. With the Holy Spirit and the armor of God, we can resist the devil and overcome his attacks.

We must not be discouraged by challenges, trials, or struggles that come our way. Instead, we must cling to the promises of God and trust in Him to see us through. We must remain faithful in our prayers, read and study the Bible, and fellowship with other believers.

The apostle Paul encourages us to keep running the race of faith, to press on towards the goal, and not to look back (Philippians 3:12-14). Similarly, we must maintain our commitment to God and continually seek His guidance and direction.

Our commitment to God should never be shaken, no matter what we face. We must remain steadfast in our faith and trust in God to guide us through the storms and bring us to victory. Let us continue to press on, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Christians to Learn from Jesus Christ

Jesus, when persecuted, the opposition could not find any reason to validate their position, so they fabricated one.

“I find no fault in this man,” said Pilate. However, the chief priests and the crowd demanded that Jesus be crucified. To appease the crowd, Pilate agreed to their demands and handed Jesus over to be crucified. Despite knowing Jesus was innocent, Pilate caved to the crowd’s pressure and allowed him to be executed.

Christians today must understand that our faith is not based on what we physically see, but our eyes are set on things above. Eternal things.

Judge Pilate considered the Pharisees’ arguments against Jesus but could not justify any reason to condemn him to death. Pilate engaged the chief priests and said,

“You have brought this Man to me as one who misleads the people. And indeed, having examined Him in your presence, I have found no fault in this Man concerning those things of which you accuse Him; no, neither did Herod, for I sent you back to him; and indeed nothing deserving of death has been done by Him” (Luke 23:14-15).

Christian unity

Christian Unity – Christians must be vigilant and not be moved.

The adversary of righteousness, Satan, will stop at nothing to harm God’s followers. In his relentless pursuit, he will use any means and cast any obstacle in their path. However, believers must remain unwavering and not succumb to fear. We must stand firm in our dedication to God and persevere in our faith until the end. It is crucial to remember that Christ has pledged triumph over all of life’s trials for those who believe in him (John 16:33). Christian unity.

Christians to remain prayerful.

Christian unity is key, but we must also be prayerful. The Lord will give us the strength to overcome our challenges. We may be oppressed, abused, and persecuted to any extent, but the Spirit of Christ that dwells in us is unbeatable! We are not moved by what we hear or what we see. We are driven by the Spirit of God. Our eyes are set on Jesus Christ, the author and the finisher of our faith.
