December 11 – Expectation Of A Leader

Paul explained the qualities that make a person fit for church leadership appointments. Paul said,

“…if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination. For a bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict” (Titus 1:6-9).

Lesson:

All Christian leaders are expected to lead by example. They must demonstrate good characters that other people can emulate. Since church leaders are appointed to represent God, they must be careful not to act in any manner or fashion that can mislead people. All activities of Christian leaders are expected to make people move closer to God.

Prayer:

Dear God, I pray for all Christian leaders that you will help them to lead by example. Please help them to overcome any challenges that may be confronting them. Please fill them with your Holy Spirit so that they can lead your people according to your will. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
