TOPIC: GOD CARES ABOUT YOU

“Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high, Who humbleth
himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!”
Psalm 113:5-6.

MESSAGE
Different cultures have different stories about the origin of man and how God used to be close to humans before our mistakes cut us off from close contact with Him and life became difficult. The Bible also tells how Adam and Eve’s sin separated humans from God, however, unlike many of these stories about God staying away from humans after their disobedience, the Bible shows us that God continued to intervene directly and personally in human history.

Psalm 113 tells us that God “dwelleth on high” but still, He “humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!” (Psalm 113:5-6). Our God lowers Himself to lift poor people out of slums and to open the wombs of childless women (Psalm 113:7-9). The God of the Bible even became a human—as Jesus Christ—and experienced poverty, hunger, and pain like other humans
(Philippians 2:5-10).

God’s care and connection with humans does not make Him less holy or less exalted—rather, it makes us want to praise Him more! So this psalm ends with “Praise ye the Lord” (Psalm 113:9). So, when you bring your requests to God today, acknowledge His awesome holiness and power. Then thank Him that He still cares about your daily concerns!
