Israelites were few in numbers and they also had limited primitive weapons to fight their enemies, but God intervened and earned them a victory. When the enemies came on Israelites like bees, God remarkably rained his own weapons from heaven to defend them. The scripture reported,
“And it happened, as they (the enemies) fled before Israel and were on the descent of Beth Horon, that the Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword” (Joshua 10:11).
Lesson:
God will go the extra mile to defend any of his children that fall into trouble. The Creator who has all power at his disposal will do and undo any situation to earn his beloved children their expected victory. Indeed, we (believers) have Jehovah the Creator of heaven and earth on our side, and he will help us in time of need! He has all instrument of war: He has sophisticated weapons, intelligence, and also knows the best tactics that can break enemies’ backbones. All believers have to do is to trust God during difficult situations! God will not fail, but surely manifest his strength and power to glorify his name.
Prayer:
Dear God, I understand you are Jehovah the Creator of heaven and earth, and you have all power needed to defend your children; therefore, I ask for your help at this time of need! Please come and rescue me from the enemies who are persecuting my soul. Save me from wicked people, and turntable against them. Please earn me victory in all situations of life so that I can continue to serve you. Let your songs of testimony never elude my mouth! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
