God uses rich people as well as common people for his special assignments. Unlike human conventional wisdom, God selects ordinary people for glorious tasks, and he glorifies himself in them! In fact, the scripture testified,
“God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty” (1 Corinthians 1:27).
Lesson:
God loves to receive due glory for his works, and he hates to share the same glory with mortal men and women. The Creator receives glory when common people are found demonstrating God’s power. The efforts force others to pay less attention to the servants being used but pay more attention to God himself. For example, Jesus Christ appointed local fishermen as his disciples (with few exceptions) to turn the whole world around for God’s kingdom. Those uneducated preachers later taught from scriptures and performed miracles, and people were challenged to worship God of wonders!
Prayer:
Dear God, please use me for your glory. Give me a humble heart, and let me be usable for your kingdom. Once, I am used, do not let me arrogate your glory to myself, but help me to direct people’s attention to you. Please keep me fit for your kingdom, and let me receive your glorious crown at the end. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
