Jesus Christ used a plain language to explain what forgiveness is about. While Peter struggled with the requirements and wanted to validate his reasoning, Jesus challenged him with some big numbers to keep his common sense on check. Meanwhile, not the numbers that matters but the core message must be understood that a Christian should not keep record of an offense, but forgive whoever has wronged him (or her). Bible reported, “…Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:21-22)”

Jesus Christ focused his teachings on the requirements of the kingdom of God, of which forgiveness is one of them. Jesus even taught his disciples to request that God should forgive them as they have forgiven…
