Leah and Rachel were obsessed about Jacob (their husband); they idolized him and competed to earn his favor. Leah sought to bore more children; Rachel fought Jacob for her barrenness. The scripture reported, “Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!” (Genesis 30:1). However, Jacob was short of meeting the expectations of his wives, which only God can handle.

 

Lesson:

God wants all people to point their attentions to him; he wants all people to serve him only. Jehovah does not want anyone to shift focus and assume a fellow human being or any other deity can replace him! All people must understand that God alone is infallible; he has no shortcoming, and he is perfect! A person who idolize a fellow human being will soon be disappointed, because every human being has a fallible attribute….
