May 18 – Interpret The Bible By God’s Inspiration

The Jews could not get over the fact that Jesus Christ called himself “The Bread of Life,” and they attempted to ridicule him by all means. Meanwhile, Jesus was determined to tell the truth about himself – even if his critics refuse to accept it. The Jews said,

“Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” Jesus therefore answered and said to them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:42-44).

Lesson:

Bible is a spiritual book, and it should not be literally interpreted only. Any attempt to only approach the scriptures with literal sense will result in a chaotic misinterpretation. Clear and concise meaning of the bible can only be obtained through the inspirations of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, children of God should be in a spiritual mood whenever they study their bibles. We are to pray for clear understanding and spiritual interpretations. Also, we are to pray that God should grant us grace to appropriately apply scriptures into our lives. No doubt that God will always bless us whenever we are sensitive and spiritually inclined to his Holy Word!

Prayer:

Dear God, please help me to spiritually interpret your scriptures. Do not let me consider the bible as one of those books in the library, but let me consider it as an inspired book that comes from God. Let me carry my bible with dignity and study it with an expectation to receive your blessing. Bless me whenever I study your word, and let my blessings continue to increase every day. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
