The scripture reported how anti-gospel people persecuted Christianity with an intention of silencing the believers. However, the persecutors lost their battles and believers won! Every effort that enemies hurled against Christianity ended up helping it. Persecutions helped believers grew stronger. An example of persecution experience that turned to success gospel propagation is reported,
“As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city” (Acts 8:3-8).
Lesson:
The gospel of Jesus Christ cannot be stopped because it is a movement that God established to save humanity from their sins. Any opposition that is launched against gospel propagation will only help it to spread further. Since the Holy Spirit resides in God’s evangelists, he motivates them to survive under stressful situations. Their God-given anointing cannot be dormant, they must preach the gospel. (The evangelists are God’s instruments specially designed for gospel evangelization; they must preach the gospel and populate the kingdom of God).
Prayer:
Dear Jesus Christ, I receive your grace and anointing to preach the gospel by faith. Empower me through your Holy Spirit to preach the gospel and expand your kingdom. Let any Satan’s effort to frustrate my evangelistic mission fail. Let oppositions against my gospel services be frustrated. Let your Holy Spirit empower me to propagate your gospel on the land; in the sea, and on the air. Let me prosper with your gospel throughout the world. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
