December 1 – The Important Virtues

A Christian who endures in faith unto the end will receive eternal rewards from God. It is written,

“For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul” (Hebrews 10:36-39).

Lesson:

“Endurance and patience” are important virtues that everyone must have to run a successful Christian race on earth. If we patiently and carefully run our Christian race, we shall see God on the last day. We Christians are to endure any suffering that might associate with our faith. Whatever hash circumstance that may come our way today will disappear one day. Pains and suffering of persecution will not last eternally; Christ will bring an ultimate end to all suffering. Christ will wipe tears off the face of his saints; he will give us new names, and award us royal honor. Followers of Jesus Christ will enjoy everlasting peace and joy in heaven – and all senses of sorry will vanish forever!

Prayer:

Dear God, please give me an enduring heart to stand in faith unto the end. Assist me to have resolute faith that cannot be overcome by any wave of persecution and/or suffering. Let my confession of Jesus Christ remain resolute, and grant me the grace to steadfastly serve you in the beauty of your holiness. Please keep my feet firm within your gate, and let me remain qualified to partake in the joy of your kingdom. Please give me the grace to faithfully serve you unto the end! For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
