The scripture revealed the lordship identity of Jesus Christ: He was not an ordinary human being as some may have presumed. He was God in human form when he came to earth – and he still retains the same identity today. It is written,
“But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness more than your companions.” And: “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; and they will all grow old like a garment; like a cloak you will fold them up, and they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will not fail” (Hebrews 1:8-12).
Lesson:
Jesus Christ is the foundation of faith and the rooftop of salvation. Also, he is the perfection of God’s love. He simplified God’s law and presented it to us to reckon with. The Savior laid a royal carpet for us to step on; hence, anyone who confesses him as the Son of God and accepts him as his/her personal Savior will be saved! People of all status should come humbly before Jesus Christ and accept him as Lord. Whoever comes to Jesus Christ will not regret, but will have everlasting life in heaven.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, I understand that you are Christ – the Son of God – who died for sinners. You sacrificed your life for a poor sinner like me so that I can inherit the gift of eternal life. Since you are so kind to me, I offer you my complete life to you: I confess you as my Lord and Savior, and I will serve you for the rest of my life. From now on, I will share the testimony of your goodness with my friends and neighbors. I will proclaim your gospel so that other people can become saved also. Please help me to stay with my conviction, and keep my promise to you! Amen!
